Monaco…Royal stories, amazing architecture & glamour

Why we love Monaco…

…This tiny Principality is unique & fascinating in many different ways.

Its striking high-rise architecture sets it apart from the rest of the Riviera coastline, but beautiful Belle Epoque and Art Deco buildings are also plentiful, nestling at the foot of the ultramodern skyscrapers.

There are few places where the world’s wealthiest rub shoulders so closely with the rest of us, “mere mortals”, whether in one of the vibrant bars on Port Hercule just a few meters from their mega yachts, on Casino Square with the ballet of supercars & ball gowns in front of Hotel de Paris or at one of Monte Carlo’s exclusive night clubs.

We love introducing visitors to Monaco because there’s so much to see & tell! From royal stories going back centuries, to the famous Grand Prix and how the Casino made Monaco what it is today…

You’ll love this place if you…

…Want a taste of the Riviera’s world famous glitz & glamour.

From the Belle Epoque’s British high society to today’s bling-bling Russian billionaires, this place oozes luxury and decadence. The world’s most exclusive designer boutiques, jaw-dropping yachts and at its heart one of the longest reigning and wealthiest royal families.

Our favourite places to eat…

Best places for a drink…

…Café de Paris, located opposite Hotel de Paris & right next to the Monte Carlo Casino. This is quite possibly the most incredible people watching place you will ever come across. We particularly recommend a glass of wine on a summer’s evening to see the crème de la crème of Monaco society arriving for a Michelin star meal at Hotel de Paris or a concert at the Opera House inside the Casino. This is how the ‘other half’ lives!

Shop/boutique not to be missed…

Landmark not to be missed…

…Monaco is crammed full of landmarks: Casino Square, the Prince’s palace, the Grand Prix race track, the Cathedral, etc…All of them are worth visiting, but one of the most impressive and interesting is the Oceanographic Museum. Whether you visit the museum itself or not, take time to admire the detailed stone relief work covering the façade and don’t miss seeing the sea-facing side from one of the balconies leading down to the car park. Only from that angle do you truly see the immensity of the architecture.

Hidden treasure…

Our favourite view…

…Our guides have a two or three spectacular panoramic views of the Principality up their sleeve! Getting a bird’s eye view from one of the mountain roads before you explore Monaco is a great way to get your bearings and to fully understand just how small the territory really is.
