Volia: Equestrian Play

From 5th to 28th August (Club Hippique de Nice, 8 boulevard des Jardiniers) Nice.

Volia is a play on the theme of love (punctuated by high-flying acrobatics!). It is a fabulous show set in an ancient arena under the stars with a cast of 4 professional artists, 5 horses, 2 donkeys and a goat!

The story: Armand, has always lived only for horses. When Sophie met him, she was fascinated by his passion and his extraordinary gift that allows him to establish a unique dialogue with animals. Despite a mutual love, a misunderstanding develops between them. How could a young woman in love accept being neglected because of a ‘job’? Armand is torn between his passion for his horses, his love to his wife and the new responsibility he has to take over the management of the family circus. The horses and their magic roundabout symbolize the ideal of serenity and wellbeing and freedom from human constraints and torments.

How to live his dream despite the vagaries of everyday life? That is the question asked of each of us by this aesthetic and poetic show where the magic will touch all ages.

On Wednesday, Thursday and Friday at 8.30pm, 1.15 hours of show (20 minutes intermission) + 2 more special events on Saturdays 1st and 8th August.
